Ottawa Virtual Summer Festivals 2020

With large events being postponed and canceled left and right, this year’s summer festivals in Ottawa will be very different. However, that doesn’t stop all the fun as a lot of festivals that are unable to hold a physical event during this time offer us different forms of virtual programs.

Here is a  list of some of Ottawa’s virtual summer festivals this year.

The Tulip Festival

The Tulip Festival runs from the 8th of May until the 18th. This year, there will be videos showing the tulip fields as well as videos narrating the history of the festival. Additionally, there will also be virtual shops that will allow people to purchase items from different vendors.

Ottawa Chamberfest

Running from the 23rd of July until the 6th of August, the Ottawa Chamberfest will include a number of online performances with the Chamberfest performers. It will play every Tuesday and Thursday at 2 pm.

Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend

Instead of just the weekend, the Tamarack Race will take place from May 15 until September 7. The extended period allows participants to have plenty of time to sign up virtually and participate in the race while still observing proper social distance.

Summer Solstice Indigenous Festival

This festival is being held virtually this year for the month of June to commemorate the indigenous history month. It will include virtual crafts and arts, culinary seminars, cultural shows, as well as an online marketplace.

Jazz Festival

Since the physical Jazz festival is canceled, the virtual version also known as Tenacity will take place on June 19 to 28. At this festival, you will enjoy Jazz music for 10 days from 85 artists.

All of these festivals and more are definitely going to make this year’s summer in Ottawa a little more different but without taking away the fun and excitement from the previous years!
