Ottawa 2017 selects Ticketmaster as its Official Ticketing Partner

Ottawa – The Ottawa 2017 Bureau and Mayor Jim Watson, in collaboration with lead partner CIBC, are pleased to welcome Ticketmaster as the Official Ticketing Partner of Canada’s 150th anniversary in the nation’s capital. These celebrations will offer Canadians and visitors from around the world an exceptional and memorable year of high-caliber experiences and bring a record number of visitors to Ottawa in 2017 to celebrate this important milestone for our country.

As part of the partnership, Ticketmaster will develop and implement a ticketing program and platform for Ottawa 2017 ticketed events. Residents and visitors will benefit by using simple, state-of-the-art ticketing solutions enabling them to easily enjoy the landmark series of events programmed to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. Ticketmaster will promote Ottawa 2017 events through its networks.

Events to be ticketed by Ticketmaster include Ignite 150 activities such as the Sky Lounge, Agri 150 events, the Interprovincial Picnic on the Bridge and the Underground Multimedia Experience which will require visitors to reserve their free spots.

“For free events such as the Underground Multimedia Experience, where approximately 300,000 people are anticipated to take the subterranean journey, this partnership with Ticketmaster will enable people to reserve their time window in advance at no cost,” said Guy Laflamme, Executive Director of the Ottawa 2017 Bureau. “This will allow us to easily get tickets into the hands of visitors and better manage the flow of ticketholders to this world first event and create a more enjoyable experience for everyone.”
