Ottawa 2017

The Ottawa 2017 Bureau is partnering with Experiences Canada (formerly known as SEVEC) to bring an unprecedented 150 youth exchange groups to Ottawa for Canada’s Sesquicentennial.

This means up to 4,500 young Canadians will get the chance to visit their Capital and celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday.

It will also create opportunities for the same number of local youth to go experience life in another part of Canada for 7 to 10 days.

We are encouraging local schools, sports teams and youth organizations to get involved and register with Experiences Canada to create their exchange. Full details can be found on the Experiences Canada website.

For our part, we will be working to coordinate exchanges with our Signature Events, so our young guests and their local hosts can enjoy a once-in-lifetime VIP experience.

We will also help exchange students fulfill their community service by getting them involved with one of our legacy projects, like building a community garden or planting trees.

Finally, we will be providing some great Ottawa 2017 branded gear and informational packages so that students can return to their community as energetic and enthusiastic ambassadors for our city.
